Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride isn’t just for kids! According to The Journal of the American Dental Association, in addition to a daily oral hygiene regimen of brushing twice a day and flossing, another key to good oral health is fluoride. Fluoride is a mineral that helps prevent tooth decay and can even repair teeth in the very early, microscopic stages.

At Flatrock Family Dentistry, Dr. Rouse and Dr. Crosland offer a fluoride varnish application for patients of all ages. While seeing your hygienist for your cleaning, ask for a risk assessment to be performed. If you are a patient with moderate to high risk of developing decay, a treatment with fluoride can help.

The varnish applied at the office has a stronger concentration than the toothpastes or fluoride rinses available in the store or pharmacy. Included with your adult fluoride treatment, you will receive a tube of prescription-strength fluoride toothpaste to take home with you.
